The Irish Pony Society is a family oriented organisation noted for setting standards for ponies in Ireland, through the improvement and protection of pony breeding, promoting and encouraging classes and competitions.

We organise a wide range of activities such as Shows, Meetings, Conferences, Seminars, Demonstrations and a Pony Register. Current membership comprises some 500 adults and 450 junior members and there are over 6000 ponies on the I.P.S. Register. Approximately 100 shows held throughout Ireland are now affiliated to the Society each year.

The Irish Pony Society is officially recognised by the Equestrian Federation of Ireland (EFI) as the governing body for Show, Working Hunter and Breeding Ponies, and uses a joint measuring scheme approved by the EFI and run in conjunction with the Show Jumping Association of Ireland.
